Since our first appearance on the Internet, this home page has grown steadily and has been updated regularly. It has now become one of the largest data pools for sailplane topics. If you have read all our articles so far you will agree.
You may imagine that it is a hard job to make and maintain such a big Web-Site. I spent thousands of hours for that.
In the moment it consists on:
One piece of information is frequently asked for, and you purposely won't find it here - the price of our products. It's not that the competition shouldn't see it, they know anyway.
But we think that a prospective customer, who is seriously interested in our sailplanes, should be entitled to have any of the options or special equipment which he or she would like.
If you send us a brief e-mail with your mailing address we will gladly supply information concerning the cost of the basic gliders and the optional extras.
All these articles are "free". For private use you can publish them wherever you want.
But please don't forget to mention our name.
A large number of our articles come from publications such as “Aerokurier”, “Fliegermagazin”, “Motorgliding” etc. and credit is given to the source.
Some of the articles come from our customers as mail or e-mail and from Newsgroups or from our many conversations with pilots. Most of these articles give their source also.
In addition to these sources, the employees of an aircraft factory represent a large pool of expert knowledge. This is especially true in the areas of “Technical expertise” and “Safety” which, by way of this Web-Site, gains a large audience.
After some years as manufacturer, I still feel more and more like a glider pilot and customer. One reason for this is that I still live in Bielefeld and the factory has its home in Bruchsal - 420 km away.
In this way, I am still a “guest”. This can only be good for my understanding of the customer and answering questions.
And one point you can be sure of, on the whole Homepage: You will not find one thing that is known to be false or twisted in order to show our product in a better light.
With regard to technology, the sites were set up with "Typo3", which produces a "HTML-Code" which is understand of each Browser.
For comparison, Microsoft Internet Explorer was also used. By avoiding “clever gimmicks” the sites are readable and fast loadable by nearly all computers.
The picture size should be set at 1024 x 768 or higher.
By now, you can download a boat-load of files - protected by "McAfee-Virus-Scan".
In order to achieve a wide compatibility with different computers, the text files are stored often in RTF format which are easily read by all text programs. The disadvantage is longer downloading times, but Win-Word “.DOC” files are not download able by all computers.
After 11 years, it was time to give a new face to our website The first problem was that it was fairly big and that over the years many different editors worked on it, giving it a mixture of styles and displays.
As a matter of fact each individual page looked different which did not show a real Corporate Identity.
So we got ourselves a web designer and a programmer to design and find the appropriate software.
But after everything was loaded, the major part of the work came back to the webmaster, me.
Herewith is a short explanation what the user should be aware of :
The new website -
has throughout the same design, font and font size etc But if required it can easily and quickly be changed, either a word or all pages.
But there are also two disadvantages:
But I believe that one can live with these shortcomings, as almost everyone today has a fast internet connection.
Please try out the above mentioned Search Function. What ever you put in should provide you with the answer. This function should eliminate the requirement of an index..
In case that the font is too small for you, press on your browser "strg" and "+" which should make the display larger.
Please advise me if you experience problems.
